A Day with just Ziv and I...

We woke up at the sound of my mom telling us, 'Wake Up, Get Up...Its time to get up!'. That sound alerted us to the reality of getting up and starting our day. Today, we would pack and pack some more. Later in the afternoon we would have rehearsals. We also had our meeting that afternoon, but we would need a ride to make it, since my parents would be at our new place getting it ready for us to move in. Time flew! We called a sister to ask her if she could pick us up and she willingly did...we only had a few minutes to get ready! We heard the honk outside and quickly left the house. At the Kingdom Hall we had the option of sitting alone or with somebody. My brother wanted to sit with a sister whom we like a lot named Glenda, so we did. We were able to talk a bit to the brother who came from San Quintin to give the discourse before the meeting. I hadnt realized that we had already met at the Going Away Party for the Andrews the day before. This brother and his wife came for the weekend to give a total of 3 talks in the neighboring congregations, like many others do too. He did a really good job...I truly enjoyed the theme which was about family. Afterwards we had the W.T. Study with brother Cobb since brother Andrews, the one who usually conducts it, is moving away. I liked the way he did it. Very mm precise. Well, once it was over we had to make plans to get a ride to rehearsals. The brother we were counting on wasnt going after all, and we didnt have any other option than to go home. I was hoping something else would happen, but nothing. The sister who had offered us a ride was already waiting outside to take us home, so I had to think quick. I chose to just go home...because the only others that I could count on had already left. Yet, as I started to say goodbye on my way out, a brother stopped me. He asked me, 'Are you going to Rehearsals?', and I replied, 'Are you?'. I had forgotten about this brother! So right then and there I made arrangements to go with him to rehearsals. First though, I went to apologize to the sister and to thank her. I also went to get my brother who was already in the car waiting to go home. YES! We would make it! So we quickly transferred our stuff into his car and left. Once we got to the other Kingdom Hall we started to, well, rehearse! I wont say anymore, but it was fun. While there we also got to meet some of the Spanish brothers who were fixing one of the walls outside. We were there a few hours and by the time we got home it was around 7:40pm. My parents had also just arrived. Thankfully my mom had come by earlier and put food in the Crock Pot. I was really happy, exhausted and tired. But, Im sure many of you had that feeling of a happy tired. Anyways, I felt that way.  We ate and started to chill a bit. We watched one of our family shows: Amazing Race. Afterwards we watched some of the Latin America show. Then, we came into my room, moved the things off my bed and dozed off.
Today, I got up and found out that our living room had leaks and that my moms room did too. I didnt know why until I realized that it had been raining the whole night. And I didnt hear anything! That is a shocker! Well, I did my bed, went to the computer and read the daily text and headed to the kitchen, of course. I had some cereal and started my day again with more packing. I did that all day long! I didnt realize how much clothes I have, so I had to get rid of some. My brother was with me part of the morning and then left with my parents to clean and paint the other house. I stayed and took on the duty of housewife. I washed, cleaned the kitchen, continued to pack, was a secretary and cooked. It was a long day! Ok, so anyhow. I was able to have some happy conversation with some friends from Oregon and my aunt. I finished cooking and washing and  by that time, my mom was home. Time flew by again! It was 6pm when I started to cook, but by the time we actually sat down to eat it was 8:40! We had our Family Worship and were able to converse. We then put on a drama. Ziv fell asleep and I got up to finish this. I will write again and upload the pictures of how my room looks at this moment. Good Night!

Yesterday & Today

Yesterday I had a very nice day. My brother and I went out on service with our old congregation to pass on our last R.V's. We enjoyed the company of our 'old' friends, who included Fabiola's crew, Montana, Gentry and Ziv. We visited a study of mine who is 9 years old and I passed her on to Edna. Later in the morning we were invited into the home of a family who's father is studying, yet mother is already a Witness. We ate some bread and chatted a bit. Afterwards we all dispersed and went our separate ways...Gentry and his kids gave us a ride back home, thankfully. When we got home we semi picked up and I say that since we have boxes everywhere.* Afterwards we studied the W.T. and then helped my mom out with some cooking. I showered, got ready for our new meeting schedule, Fridays @ 7pm and left. The meeting was wonderful as they all are, and I enjoyed seeing my friends, exchanging encouragement and sharing laughs. We also heard the great announcement about our congregations name changing to Mazatlan Ingles. That will be a change we will have to get used to. Oh and we also heard that the southern groups name is actually, Vista AL Mar. A lot of people thought it was Vista DEL Mar. Anyways, after the meeting we got home and got our stuff ready for service the next morning. Then, we slept!

This morning we, referring to my brother and I, got up earlier than usual to go out with Sister Valerie and another sister. It was a very fresh morning but people were out! We did talk to a few but the majority were non English speakers. We chose to support the southern group this morning and it was our first time preaching in their area. I enjoyed it, it was a good morning. We stopped around 12:15. We got home we changed, picked up-again-and cleaned the kitchen. My parents had gone to our new home and started to clean it, so we had to continue busy while they were gone. Once we finished with the kitchen we started getting ready to go to a couples Going Away Party. They will be heading back to Arkansas were they have another daughter, while one stays here with her family. We arrived a bit after the time mentioned in the invite, but so many were there and so many kept arriving. It also was perfect timing since the food was just being served! Mm...I had some good food, and among it was the Famous Loflin Spaghetti...So good!  It was a fun time to get together and see friends. The couple, the Andrews, also seemed to be enjoying it, since I saw Bob taking many pictures. I will miss them. :( People started to leave once it started to get darker. My mom had also left a bit earlier to feed my dad since he was checking our new place. Meanwhile a group of young ones and some adults went to the beach to start a bonfire. We played some soccer and also built a hut out of some sticks we found. We got sandy and wet too, but it was fun!  My parents came to pick us up and we left...happy and sandy! We got home around 7:30pm and got clean. I then started doing my Avon Order online. Once I finished with that I helped my mom. She was looking for a show and couldn't find it. Now, I am here finishing up my update. So, spread the word to my friends and let others know about this! Good Nite! Oh and apologies for not uploading pictures... :(
Will write more soon.
:)

* I found out that the house we are moving into includes a dog!! I am happy, but at the same time it will mean more responsibility...I'm still excited!

Brief Overview

Hello Peeps!

This is Izmir-Janai and I am going to give a brief overview of what's been happening  in Mexico since we moved here 3 years ago! October 31st is the official day we moved here. OK, Here it goes!

We first started attending the Mixteco meetings (an indigenous language) , but sadly there were no youths there and my brother and I needed association, that was important to my mom. We checked out the Spanish cong. and started going to the book study near out first home, which was nice but the hall was packed with publishers. So, we were wondering if there were other avenues to choose from. One day we went out to eat and guess who we heard sitting next to us? Some brothers from the English congregation. We didn't know there was an English in Rosarito, so we checked it out. We liked it and decided to support it since there was only 1 elder. We stayed until there was sufficient help and when a new group was formed north of Rosarito. We helped the group from its beginning in mid February and continued helping even after it became a congregation a month & 1/2 afterwards. A picture of our first meeting follows.

We've been in that congregation, which has since been named La Cuesta Ingles. Last month we had a few new publishers join us and we totaled 45. We have in total 26 pioneers. It is a very united congregation and has a nice mix. I really liked it. But sadly, we have had to move due to unforeseen occurrences and money. I will definitely miss it, since it felt like a family.
For the time we have moved back to the Rosarito congregation which has also changed since we left it. It was divided again to a southern group, so a few faces that I knew have left. We will view this as an Adventure, help it flourish again. Plus, I saw a few new faces at the meeting last week, so I will probably make new friends too. So now let me backtrack a bit. In July we had our Circuit Assembly which I thoroughly enjoyed. In August we, my mother and I, had the privilege of going to the Pioneer Service School together in Playas de Tijuana. We had such an amazing time, learned so much and got to make friends with such experienced brothers and sisters.  It was so wonderful and I am really glad I got to go with my mom. We also had some friends come visit us from Ecuador last week. That was such a nice little reminder of our friends who are over there. I wish I could go! I am hoping that I do get to make plans after November.  Meanwhile, we've been packing to move to a new place. We are also getting ready for our long-awaited Assembly in November. I really can't believe it is so close! 1 month to go! Yippee....! I am really happy and can't wait.
Below are some pictures of some events that have happened in the last few months.
Will write more soon. I have to continue packing!
